Bellhop at the Baker Hotel tells the story of the legendary Baker Hotel through the eyes of someone who was there. As a teenage bellhop during the hotel's glamorous early 1930s heyday, Z.A. Calhoun witnessed firsthand the people, stories, and daily life inside one of Texas' most iconic destinations. Through a rare interview recorded in 1997, his memories become a window into the rise, decline, and lasting legacy of the Baker Hotel. More than a history of a famous landmark, it's the story of one man's lifelong connection to Mineral Wells, where the hotel helped shape both his career and the community he called home.
